The following illustrates a typical page of CALASTAPEAS' GATHERING, formatted for the INTERNET.

They were wondrous creatures in so many ways and the one called Hadwyn was the creature companion of a five-year-old boy, Sedrik.  Hadwyn’s markings were blues and greens.  Along with Hadwyn was Florey, with star markings intermixed within her fluorescent swirls and longer spirals of hair.  Leelor had the most colors in his wings, blending into one color after another instead of being merely streaked with the colors.  Callisa had the most vibrant violet colored eyes, and her body markings were like confetti in the shades of pink, red, yellow, green and violet.

Those four were the entirety of the calastapea population.  Created one after another once Meric created the first, who just happened to be Hadwyn.  Meric knew—as all creators knew—one of any creature just wasn’t enough to be fair to a new life form.  All would need others of their kind.  Sometimes there would be just two, or four, but at other times they would create masses of them as with the small metallic colored lizard-like floads.

All creatures had their own personalities, no matter what species they were, or who created them.  Once Hadwyn became Sedrik’s creature companion, he was with Sedrik more than he was with the other calastapeas.  That influenced his personality, as he bonded with a child and spent much time and communication with him.  He became more thoughtful and more considerate than one would expect from his youth.

Callisa was outspoken—from the time she peeped up her first observations, which usually didn’t agree with the others around her—throughout the multitude of years following.  She wasn’t always satisfied with what she found around her, even though she had the same as others who found great joy in their surroundings.  Still, nothing had caused her too many concerns regarding her fate, so she had spent a happy life.

Leelor was the most sports-like, the most exuberant, enjoying taking long, wild flights.  Once a child was old enough to fly on his own—since Leelor would not risk these maneuvers before that time—he would do magnificent rolls and twirls, in roller coaster fashion with them.  The children would scream out in glee.
