“Blessings of the Lake”

There is something glorious,

About being near a lake,

The view can be spectacular,

Making the soul awake.

To the blessings God has wrapped up,

In nature and all around,

In sights and in fragrances,

Rich textures and sweet sounds.

In sunrise or in sunset,

Cloudy days or those so clear,

Waves rippling across or surface smooth,

Each is wonderful to be near.

Watching eagles soar overhead,

With dragonflies nearby,

Damselflies are there as well,

With fishes swimming by.

To splash amidst the water,

To swim, twirl and float,

Is such a wonderful feeling,

So is sitting in a boat.

My heart rises up rejoicing,

My songs of praise ring out.

I thank God for such blessings,

I feel His presence all about.
