Tippoo Tib was an Arab slave trader and the richest man in Africa in 1890. He organised the expeditions by Henry Morton Stanley to find Dr Livingstone that led to the discovery of Victoria Falls.

His name has  largely been lost to European-centric history, despite King Leopold of Belgium having appointed him King of the Congo. The Life and Times of Tippoo Tib takes a hard look at a rough time when the slave trade was thriving, cannibalism was rampant,  five million natives were murdered in the Congo, and 16 million elephants died to provide ivory for American pianos.
